what would be the best scope with mill dots reticle for a .308win remington 700?
i have found many good scopes but the leupold i have more interest in. the problem im having is the custom shop on the website has a bullet drop compensation but if i don't know what bullet im shooting and all the other info will it effect the way the mill dots are used? and im also using the rifle for hunting and target shooting but i would like for it to be tactical as possible
The BDC cam will not effect the mil-dot reticle, it will only effect the BDC. Use 168 grain for the best results across the board, it will start to vary in about 300 yards, but will do the job for the most bullets, and the 168 grain sierra match kings are your best commercial load for target shooting anyways.
You will still be able to adjust on the 1/4 MOA clicks as well as using the BDC cam, so you can if needed ignore the BDC system.
You can also switch cams when necessary if you have to.
