EOTech with magnifier question?
i was looking to get a eotech and later add a magnifier but i noticed on the eotech you have to use a screw driver to adjust elevation so in reality your stuck with your settings if you want to go from 50 to 300 yards right away, how do you properly use the eotech with the magnifier if you cant quickly change the elevation? Is there something that im missing? do you just zero it at 200 yards and compensate a little low for 100 yards and a little high for 300, this is going to be used with 5.56

Since you're not getting an answer ("Bueller" was funny)... I have a 55X series with the 3x magnifier. No, there's not a speed adjustment dial like on a more traditional scope. The reason you're likely not getting an answer is that you have the "correct" one. I zeroed for 200 and have a holdover card on the AR to drop in my pocket when I go out. You can use a 5.56 chart and compute your own holdover based, of course, on the weight of the bullet you're using and the length of the barrel. One such chart: http://www.shootingtimes.com/ballistics/223_remington.html. I talked to an EOTech rep about this at a show. He said what you'd expect: "It's a CQB-oriented device...")
BTW: with military ammo on the M4, a marine I have heard likes to recite, "Dead at 30, dead at 300." Depending on weight, 30-33 yards zero equals a 300 yard hit on our EOTechs because of trajectory. He shot and showed me, then reset for 25/250.
Edit: I did some research. The newer model magnifier's ad says, "positions the windage and elevation adjustments inside of the optic rather than in the mount". This must mean that they have bullet drop compensation on the magnifier now. My magnifier does not have this. (http://www.eotech-inc.com/product.php?id=14&cat=3)
